State-of-the-Art Operating Rooms
Poudre Valley Hospital and Medical Center of the Rockies have many pieces of specialized equipment used in the General Surgery suites. The operating rooms contain a surgical robotic system, videoscopes, fiber optic scopes, surgical cameras, a cell saver and a neoprobe (gamma detection system that measures radiation). Doppler ultrasound to measure blood flow or pulses, a harmonic scalpel that can seal or close a cut after it has been made, and an AESOP robotic arm that positions and moves the surgeon's scope in a Laparoscopic surgery by responding to voice commands.
