Patient satisfaction at Medical Center of the Rockies and Poudre Valley Hospital is among the best in the country, according to Avatar International, an industry leader in healthcare quality improvement.

MCR received three awards from Avatar based on 2009 performance, including the Overall Best Performer award, the Exceeding Patient Expectations award, and honorable mention for the Best Practice award, Avatar announced. PVH earned the Exceeding Patient Expectations award and an honorable mention for the Best Practice award.

“Poudre Valley Health System employees take pride in providing an unparalleled patient, family and visitor experience, and this recognition documents that commitment,” said PVHS CEO Rulon Stacey.

The Overall Best Performer award went to hospitals in the top 5 percent of Avatar’s database based on patient surveys. The Exceeding Expectations Award went to 74 of the more than 360 facilities in Avatar’s database based on those surveys.

It’s the eighth straight year PVH received the Exceeding Expectations award and the third straight year MCR, which opened in 2007, received it.
